What is gilika?

gilika is a code to image generator for turning code snippets into beautiful, shareable images. You paste your code, style it, and export a polished PNG, or copy it to your clipboard.

Why we built it

Sharing a snippet as a pretty image is a small thing developers do constantly, in READMEs, blog posts, slides, and social media. But most tools render your code on a server, which means uploading it to a third party. For anyone working with proprietary code, internal tooling, or anything under NDA, that is a real concern. We built gilika to keep the one thing you care about, your code, on your machine. See exactly how.

What gilika does

Paste code, customize the theme, background, window chrome, and aspect ratio, then export a PNG or copy the image to your clipboard. The editor is free to use anonymously; a Pro plan adds unlimited exports and saved styles. Curious about the details? Read the FAQ.

Why choose gilika

There are several good tools for turning code into images. gilika’s angle is browser-side rendering — so your code stays on your machine — plus a carousel mode, a broad theme set, and a free, no-friction editor. Here is what you get.

Free to use

The editor is free to use anonymously. A Pro plan lifts the export cap and saves your styles.

No account required

Open the editor and start immediately — no login wall and no email needed to export.

Built to run in your browser

Images are rendered on the page, so your code is never uploaded to a server. Verify it yourself in the Network tab.

Multi-slide carousels

Build a deck of code slides that share one style and export them together as a ZIP of PNGs.

Copy to clipboard

Export a high-resolution PNG or copy the image straight to your clipboard — no extra steps.

30+ syntax themes

Dozens of themes, from classic editor palettes to soft pastels, plus backgrounds, window styles, line numbers, drop shadows, and aspect ratios for any feed.

No watermark

Every export is clean. No watermark, no badge, no trace of the tool that made it.
